Meet Team Strathmore

Three Scottish hopefuls who we will follow on their journey to the Games.

Not only are Strathmore proud to be the official water supplier to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, but as part of Strathmore Do More, we are proud to also be the sponsors of Team Strathmore – three Team Scotland hopefuls who we will follow on their journey to the Games.

Meet the trio of talented athletes who make up Team Strathmore: Robbie Renwick, swimmer; Libby Clegg, Paralympic sprinter; and Dan Keatings, gymnast.

Swimmer Robbie Renwick is no stranger to the Commonwealth Games, having won the gold for the 200m freestyle at the 2010 Games in Delhi, India. As if that’s not impressive enough, in 2013 Robbie became the national record holder for the Long Course 100m Freestyle with an impressive time of 49.17! The 26-year-old hails from Glasgow and is now hoping for a win on his home turf this summer.

Paralympic sprinter Libby Clegg (24) is from Edinburgh, and she has won 2 Paralympic silver medals – one at London 2012, and one at Beijing 2008. Libby’s deteriorating eye condition (Stargardt’s Muscular Dystrophy) means that she has only slight peripheral vision in her left eye, but this hasn’t held her back – aside from the two Paralympic medals, she’s also won gold medals at the World Championships and the European Championships.

Gymnast Dan Keatings (also 24) has won a whopping eight British All Around titles and received gold medals for the pommel at both the 2008 Gymnastics World Cup and the 2010 European Championships as well. This will be his second appearance at the Commonwealth Games, having represented Scotland at the 2006 Games in Melbourne.

AG Barr’s head of marketing, Adrian Troy said: “Team Strathmore is made up of some of the country’s most promising athletes and we are proud to support them through their journey. The 2014 Commonwealth Games will leave an important legacy for Scotland and we are contributing to that with our Do More campaign where Robbie, Libby and Dan will inspire people to get more active.”

We hope that you are as excited as we are to follow these three inspirational athletes on their journey to their homes games. We’ll be bringing you exclusive videos about each of the athletes as well as plenty of tips and ideas to help you to Do More in your own lives.
